Overview & Summary
ZoneExtract 3.4.0 was released on 28th September 2026 and expands cloud destination support and enhances file naming flexibility across data pipelines:
Google Cloud Storage (GCS) Integration: Introduces native support for Google Cloud Storage as an export destination, allowing NetSuite datasets and saved searches to be extracted and streamed directly into GCS buckets using OAuth2 Bearer tokens or GCS HMAC credentials.
Human-Readable Export Naming: Adds a configurable option to name exported CSV files using the descriptive Export Definition Name rather than technical search script IDs, simplifying ingestion and pipeline matching for downstream consumers.
Enhancements (2)
Google Cloud Storage (GCS) Connector & Exporter: Added native connector and exporter support for Google Cloud Storage (GCS) alongside existing destinations (AWS S3, Azure Blob, OneDrive, and SharePoint). NetSuite administrators can securely stream data into GCS buckets using either GCP OAuth2 Bearer tokens or HMAC access key/secret pairs, complete with dedicated connector configuration forms (
custform_tc_connector_gcs) and encrypted credential storage. (ZR-2584)Human-Readable Export Filenames: Introduced the Use Export Name in Exported Files option (
custrecord_tc_ed_use_export_name) on Export Definition records. When enabled, the Map/Reduce export engine dynamically sanitizes the Export Definition's descriptive name to generate the output CSV filename, replacing the default technical script identifier (<exportId>.csv) across all cloud connectors. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. What authentication methods are supported for Google Cloud Storage (GCS)?
ZoneExtract supports two authentication mechanisms for GCS:
GCS HMAC Keys: Recommended for straightforward service-account-level access using standard Access ID and Secret keys.
OAuth2 Bearer Tokens: For organizations requiring token-based authentication workflows within GCP.
2. Where do I configure the new Google Cloud Storage connector?
Navigate to ZoneExtract > Setup > Connectors > New and select Google Cloud Storage as the connector type. You will be prompted to enter your GCS Bucket Name, optional target folder path, and preferred authentication credentials.
3. How does "Use Export Name in Exported Files" handle special characters?
When Use Export Name in Exported Files is checked on an Export Definition, ZoneExtract automatically sanitizes the name by removing or replacing invalid file path characters (such as slashes, colons, and illegal symbols) to ensure compatibility across all cloud storage providers and local operating systems.
4. Will updating to 3.4.0 change the filenames of my existing automated exports?
No. Existing Export Definitions retain their current technical naming behavior (<exportId>.csv) by default. To switch an export to use the descriptive name, edit the Export Definition record and check Use Export Name in Exported Files.
